Resources for Teachers

Storytelling resources for teachersStories can bring an inspiring benefit to the classroom - and not just for Reception years. Nor just for literacy. The excited interest that can be encouraged by good storytelling is a proven tool for increasing children's keenness for learning.

This is the chief reason why Snail Tales began holding storytelling workshops for children and teachers, and it is also the reason why we wish to offer you some stories and lesson ideas for free use in the classroom.

Our only disclaimer is this: all material offered on this site is copyright Snail Tales, and may not be used by any other persons for financial profit.

Stories and Lesson Ideas Archive

Snail Tales has written out some of their retellings of traditional tales. If you decide to retell one of these stories, do have a go at using your own words. But feel free to use the exact words we've written.

Lesson ideas are provided in PDF format. If you need to install the free Adobe Acrobat Reader, click here.

To download, a left-click will usually work. If it doesn't, try a right-click and choose the option that says "Save Target", "Save Link" or "Download Linked File".
