Should we be award-winning?

Ever watched a Snail Tales storyteller and thought, "That storyteller deserves a medal..."?

Well, now you can help us get one! The British Awards for Storytelling Excellence are being handed out by last year's deputy storytelling laureate Shonaleigh and Indian storyteller Peter Chand as part of an exciting Phrase Arts initiative to get traditional oral storytelling the recognition it deserves.

Categories include Best Male Storyteller, Best Female Storyteller, Best MultiArts Project and Best Community Project — all categories for which Snail Tales storytellers could be eligible! Over time it's hoped that the BASE will become as big as the BAFTAs... so we would dearly appreciate your nomination!

Perhaps you want to nominate Chip, David or Amy for their visit to your school? Or maybe you want to nominate Little Birds for the Best Community Project? Or how about A Bird In Your Ear for the Best MultiArts Project? You can nominate us for any of these... or all of them!

To do so, click here to download the nominations form (a Microsoft Word document), fill it out on your computer, and then send it to awardstory@gmail.com. Please also contact us to say you've done so, so we can say thank you!

The storytellers or projects with the most nominations will be shortlisted for voting, so a big thank you if you can nominate us! We hope to be in touch soon with news of how to vote...!
