Baby Robinson arrives!

While the nation ground to a halt for snow and Christmas last December, Snail Tales' founding partner Amy happily delivered Abigail Jane "Snow" Robinson into the world - just in time for dad Tiffer's birthday!

As the daughter of a storyteller should eventually learn to expect, the birth was an adventure of its own. Originally, the parents-to-be had hoped for a home birth in Mellis, where Tiffer had recently been posted as a Deacon.

But when all available midwives couldn't leave their houses in the snow, Amy and Tiffer climbed aboard an ambulance heading to hospital. Snow and ice continued to cause havoc, and Abi was very nearly born aboard the ambulance as it struggled to reach the A14.

The first two hospitals approached by the ambulance turned them away, as all beds were full. Just as they were facing a trek across county borders to Addenbrooke's hospital in Cambridge, the ambulance crew exercised their powers of persuasion over West Suffolk hospital, who finally found a corner. Within minutes of her mother's arrival to the hospital bed, Snow followed suit - at 11:32am on 18 December.

Her first vitals were 7lbs 9oz. Now, father, mother and daughter Robinson are healthy, happy, and looking forward to many months of bedtime stories and nursery rhymes.
