Snail Tales news

Snail Tales goes international

Snail Tales' special brand of storytelling was delivered live across the globe for the first time last weekend, as part of a children's ministry conference developed by One Way Romania.

The conference was the first of its kind in Romania, bringing children's workers in churches and schools from around the country to learn creative ways of engaging children. Among them was award-winning ventriloquist Judy Buch.

One Way Romania is bank of puppetry and Christian resources for use with children, including magic, balloon modelling and music. It was borne from the vision of Harry Barrett, who first founded One Way UK, an organisation which has had a major impact on youth work in British churches. Virtually all youth leaders in the UK have used either a CD, puppet, prop, or training from One Way to bring fun and laughter to tens of thousands of children.

So Snail Tales was overjoyed to be given the opportunity to join Harry and friends in Romania and share creative gifts with delegates who were eager to learn. Chip demonstrated energetic storytelling onstage and gained a massively appreciative audience of around 200 delegates. He also ran an oversubscribed workshop covering storytelling with the whole body, safe use of the voice, how to engage audiences of mixed ages, and more.

It was Chip's first time working with a foreign language interpreter too - and he made sure she got into the spirit of the telling! Look out for the video coming soon to YouTube!
