Famous Little Birds announced!
Starting this Friday, 24th July, Snail Tales will be touring a selection of brand new stories, from the creative minds of children from East Anglian primary schools, under the title of A Little Bird Told Me.
The children created wacky worlds and colourful characters - sometimes nonsensical, sometimes revealingly moral, but always great fun. Snail Tales has adapted some of the most inventive stories for theatrical performance with Chip and Amy's special blend of traditional storytelling, puppetry, magic and song. These are tomorrow's fairy tales in the making!
Well over 600 children told their stories to us during Little Birds workshops and afterschool clubs, and it is a great shame that there was only space for a few to be told in the theatre. Even one show is too short for us to tell all the stories we picked out from the Little Birds below - so every theatre will be getting a slightly different programme of stories chosen from our big list of favourites.
So congratulations to the children from the following primary schools, who made these enchanting tales...
- Crab's Beach from All Saints Inter-Church Primary School
- Why Horses Race from Angel Road Junior School
- The Judge's Mum and Penny Got Put in the Pound from Cotton End Lower School
- An Elf with Wings and The Magic Hairclip from Giles Junior School
- Escape from the Magic-Hunting Pirates, a collaborative effort by pupils of Great Waldingfield Primary School, Tudor Road CE Primary School and Uplands Middle School
- The Magic Mirror and the Fake Painting from The Grove Primary School
- Harry Becomes a Beast and Prince v Dragon from Round Diamond Primary School
- The Perfect Princess from Shirley Primary School
- Ben the Dragon and Sophie the Snail from St Philips C of E Primary School
- Pelvis the Kickboxing Elephant from Thomas Eaton Community Primary School
