Cambridge Storytelling Festival

The Cambridge Storytellers are holding their second festival in two years, entitled Bridge of Tales, and it promises to be even more exciting than the first.
Thanks in a large part to the Arts Council for the East Region, the festival will play host to exclusive new commissions by renowned storytellers such as Ben Haggarty and Dominic Kelly, along with the 2009 National Young Storyteller of the Year, Wilf Merttens.
But alongside these story craft tours de force are plenty of open telling sessions where you yourself could turn up to try your larynx at spinning a good yarn. From ghost stories as the day turns dark on Friday evening, to sharing fables of wisdom to Sunday afternoon, there's a space for every teller's favourite genre.
You can also attend workshops to develop your own storytelling skills, with seasoned professionals such as Graham Langley and Richard Neville.
Plus, of course, Snail Tales will be putting on a special family show! But the highlight, we believe, will be the Storytelling Bazaar at 12:15 on Saturday. Here you will get to hear stories told by children of almost all primary ages, from 6 years and up, who have been working with Snail Tales and the Cambridge Storytellers on the Awards For All funded Young Voices programme.
It promises to be a spectacular event - and we've barely mentioned half of the attractions! For more information, along with times and ticket prices, visit www.cambridgestorytellers.com.
We hope to see you there!
